Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
This policy explains how Seymour Studio LLC ("we", "us") handles information through the Granary website at joingranary.com and the Granary mobile app. Granary hasn't launched yet. Today we collect only what's described under "The website and waitlist." The app sections describe how the app will handle data, and we'll update this policy before the app is released.
The website and waitlist
- What we collect: the email address you enter, and, if you choose one, who's in your household (for example "two of us").
- Why: to tell you when Granary is ready and to understand who it's for. We won't use it for anything else or add you to unrelated lists.
- Where it's kept: with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States.
- Cookies and tracking: the website uses no advertising or analytics cookies, and our fonts and images are served from our own site. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Leaving the list: email hello@joingranary.com and we'll delete your entry.
The Granary app
Information you give us
- Your email address (used to sign in with a one-time code) and the name you choose to show your household.
- Your household: who's in it, their roles, and the sharing setting each person picks.
- Things you create in the app, such as budgets, goals, plans and category choices.
Information from your bank, read-only
- If you connect a bank, we use a secure connection provider (such as Plaid) to receive read-only information: account names, account types, the last four digits of account numbers, balances, and transactions.
- You sign in to your bank through the provider. Granary never receives or stores your bank username or password.
- Granary cannot move money, make payments, transfer funds or trade.
- You can disconnect a bank at any time. The provider's own privacy policy also applies to that connection.
How we use information
- To run Granary: draw your garden, sort spending, track bills and goals, and show your household what you've chosen to share.
- To send the emails you need, such as sign-in codes and, if you turn it on, your morning summary.
- To keep Granary secure, fix problems and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or show ads. Granary is paid for by optional subscriptions.
Who can see your information
- Your household: only what each person's sharing setting allows (everything, a summary, or private).
- Service providers that help us run Granary, under contracts that limit their use of your data: Supabase (database and sign-in), Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare (website hosting and security) and our bank connection provider.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
- If our company changes hands: this policy would continue to apply to your information, and we'd tell you first.
Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted in transit, and our database uses row-level access rules so that each person can only reach their own household's information. No system is perfectly secure, but we design Granary to hold as little as possible: read-only access, no bank passwords, and only the last four digits of account numbers.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal and financial information within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something longer. Deleting your account also disconnects your banks.
Children
Granary accounts are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Planned family features will let a parent add a simple plot for a child, managed by the parent. We'll update this policy, and follow the rules that protect children's privacy, before offering them.
Your choices and rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your information, and change your sharing settings, at any time. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights. To use any of them, email hello@joingranary.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
